MerlinXL5 radio and Haiti relief - January 25, 2010

MerlinXL5 Radio this week (1/25/10) features Dave Nachmanoff and Al Stewart in anticipation of the upcoming concert on May 9th. If you haven’t tuned in yet, come see what the hype is all about. Listeners from as far away as Spain and the Philippines can’t be wrong. More information at Daniel Stratton's site: http://danielstratton.net/news.htm

Also, I sell my CDs on CDBaby. CD Baby will donate $1 toward Haitian earthquake relief for every CD and album download sold.

In the studio, The Dave-Bruce Alliance, and more "Uncorked" - January 18, 2010

Lots going on in the studio again.  I have been working on some more custom songs, and have a couple of projects that are due out very soon.   The Belles-Silcock family (www.allourboys.com) has their 3rd CD coming out, entitled “Brand New Chapter.”  This one features the boys singing and playing some guitar, even more than the 2nd one did.  Britt Miller’s CD, Juxtapose, is now available on CDBaby, and he has returned safely from his posting in Afghanistan.

“Jersey to California: New CD by ‘The Dave-Bruce Alliance’" has been released!  This album started when Bruce took his lyrics for a single song and asked me to put them to music. From that first "Custom Song" project, Bruce was hooked, and we became like Bernie Taupin & Elton John, with Bruce writing the lyrics in New Jersey, and sending them along with ideas for the sound or style of song to me in California. Some of the songs were even written in the same room, during some of my east coast tour stops. Before long, we'd assembled a group of songs that we both really liked.  Pick it up at http://davenach.com/products.html . Keep in mind that it won't be available at most shows.   Meanwhile, I am hard at work on the Belles-Silcock family’s 4th CD, and producing a CD for singer/songwriter Steve Kahn!

By now, you have likely heard of "Uncorked - Al Stewart Live with Dave Nachmanoff". It's getting nice response at folk radio and in some publications. Thanks to each and every one of you who bought it from me either on my site, or at the shows.  I’m very happy with how it sounds, but it’s been wonderful to see the great response that fans and strangers have had!  For anyone who wants to help spread the word, feel free to send reviews to Amazon.com, CDBaby and iTunes, and of course and “blogs” or websites that people use to look for new music.

Here's the information again:

Upcoming southeastern U.S. November shows - November 1, 2009

I'm headed to the southeastern U.S. in early November with Al Stewart - we'll perform at the Second Fret Coffeehouse in Statesville, NC (I will also open) on Tuesday, November 3rd; Eddie's Attic on Thursday, November 5th; the Sylvia Theatre in York, SC (I will also open) on Friday, November 6th; and the Holly Springs Cultural Center in Holly Springs, NC (I will also open) on Saturday, November 7th.

I'll have "Uncorked" with me, so if you haven't bought online but would like to buy at the shows, you'll be able to. Folk radio seems to like "Uncorked", which is nice to see - it seems the song "Palace of Versailles" is a favorite of many DJs. I did a house concert the other week and Patty D. (the host) joined me in performing the song.
