Lyrics

Weaving the Dream

Words and Music by Dave Nachmanoff

Spirit voice is calling me, tells me what to say
I never was that certain ‘til it came to me one day
Growing up a Pomo girl, learning how to weave
But spirit says I’ve got a destiny

CHORUS:
I’m weaving the dream
Over, under, back and through
My dream…
Can you hear your spirit voice, is it calling you?

I never was a doctor, but I’ve got the gift to heal
Nothing from a school or book, something that I feel
Sometimes it’s exhausting, but I don’t have any choice
I couldn’t help but listen to that voice…

Repeat Chorus

Digging up the sedge root, like my Grandma did before
Keep the reeds so supple, as we lay them on the floor
Like special moments in my life, I tie the feathers on
This basket will keep living when I’m gone…

Repeat Chorus

Are you weaving your dream?
Over, under, back and through
Your dream…
Can you hear your spirit voice, is it calling you?
