PALS rescues cats from the streets, from kill shelters, from hoarders -- from anywhere cats in need are found -- and nurses them to health, has a large network of fosters and adopts out about 300 cats per year. They also have a shelter, where 100 cats live, most roaming freely in the three-story house, and many who simply are unadoptable, so they can live in comfort and safety. They also have a Seniors program, where they will adopt out cats to a senior citizen and cover the cat's care for the rest of the cat's life. The shelter employs veterinary experts who dispense the medications the cats need, and volunteers work to keep the shelter clean, the litter boxes clean, and the cats fed.
